“Change your thoughts and you can change the world.” – Norman Vincent Peale

Finding the belief in one’s self to take chances outside our comfort zone in a time of uncertainty is when I am inspired to pause and lead forward. This is an exciting moment — the beginning of a new chapter within the commercial design and furniture industry, and the beginning of my next chapter as well.

For decades, there have been many “unknowns” in the world of furniture. Ever wonder why? Ambiguity has shaped the industry for years — unclear processes, undefined expectations, and outcomes that differ from project to project. As the way we work and live has transformed, the furniture procurement process has remained overwhelmingly the same. Our industry partners have voiced this repeatedly: the process needs a refresh.

As everything around us evolved, we listened. And Meraki is the result. We are part of a community calling for positive change. Our circle represents the next generation in design and construction — one that values clarity, transparency, and collaboration. Our world is changing — companies, spaces, and people have changed — and the process must change with it.

A New Way Forward

Meraki aids in customizing a roadmap that fits you. We lead a process that answers “the unknown” questions, creates alignment, and brings together all stakeholders — the client, dealer, manufacturer, and architectural partners. We confront the industry’s inherited opaque and rigid standards with education, efficiency, proven experience, and transparency. This directly addresses the ambiguity that has long defined our industry and replaces the limitations of traditional furniture project management and procurement models.

Commercial furniture is deeply tied to a company’s identity, functionality, and employee retention. Yet outside of construction costs, it remains the second-largest expenditure for most organizations and is too often left with limited time for decision-making, programming, and procurement.

To create meaningful change, we had to shift how we viewed the process and focus on what matters most. By choosing to be proactive rather than reactive, early engagement allows teams to align, collaborate, and build the foundation required for success — reducing bottleneck tensions, minimizing costly change orders, and producing measurable increases in ROI across the entire furniture project management and procurement lifecycle.

The Meraki Difference

Our process fosters partnership, increases efficiencies, and creates savings. Early synergy and clearly defined project intentions provide the clarity every team needs. When participants are aligned — respecting one another’s skills, advocating, and educating throughout the journey — the ideal “Project Team” becomes a reality. With this foundation in place, successful project implementation is all but ensured.

People matter to Meraki. Our clients are the heroes of our story, along with our partners and our Meraki community. We continue to learn — combining decades of lessons-learned with today’s evolving economic landscape — to replace the nebulous design of ambiguity. Results matter, so we drive efficiencies knowing that together we are better. Meraki optimizes cost savings in contract negotiation, supports branding alignment, aids in standards development, and strengthens strategic vendor partnerships across all vertical markets.

Looking Ahead

It is remarkable to think our work is just beginning. For decades, we have built spaces that brought people together for impactful moments in time — moments that shaped behavior, brand, culture, and identity. We have learned from each other and from working together. Now is the time to take those lessons learned and move forward to the next chapter — driving change through a process that benefits everyone at the table.

I am dedicating my energy to building this brand and company because it is a connection to everything in my life. People build brands, processes, companies, and communities. This model helps support our clients and colleagues, and we hope it will leave a lasting footprint on those we engage with.

Meraki is one of the most thought-stimulating, positive words: “to do something with all of yourself — soul, passion, creativity, or love — to leave a piece of yourself in your work.” With focus on the holistic connection to all things we do, we simply transferred this meaning to our industry and the furniture lifecycle.

Thank you to our friends, family, clients, and industry partners for the knowledge and experience that helped create this moment in time. We are better together.

With gratitude and a steady hand dedicated to positive growth —
May we all incorporate Meraki in all we do.
